Isla Canela and Punta del Moral are two coastal villages belonging to the town of Ayamonte, near the mouth of the Guadiana River, on the border with Portugal.
Its origins go back to the seventeenth century, with the construction of watch towers in defence of the pirate attacks, and because of its proximity to the town of Ayamonte, the commercial and financial centre on this county.
Today, both urbanisations are about complete resorts in full swing, with beautiful beaches of golden sand next to the marshes, and with a great variety of services and activities to perform outdoors.
Also we must emphasize the marvellous golf course at Isla Canela, the marina at Punta del Moral, some archaeological buildings as the Torre Canela, and its proximity to Portugal, being accessible through the international bridge of the Guadiana, or through a local ferry boat, which will lead us to the nearby Portuguese population of Vila Real de San Antonio.
Finally, we can not forget the proximity in both urbanisations to the town of Ayamonte, the core of this county and place from where you can make excursions to nearby Portugal, visit the Algarve, or to know the history and the culture on this region.
