Isla Cristina is a coastal town located about fifteen kilometres from the border with Portugal, in an area of marshes and pine forests, surrounded by the natural park of “Marshes of Isla Cristina,” and with 12 km of magnificent white sandy beaches, ranging up from Punta del Cayman to Playa de Islantilla.

Its population which is over 20,000 inhabitants, has a great seafaring tradition, and its economy turns on fishing and tourism.

Its fishing port is considered one of the most important in Andalusia, and that is why this city, always facing to the sea, has a large fish market, which deserves your visit. Needless to say, that its rich cuisine is based on seafood products, concerning the universal Huelva gastronomy.
Also on its port is located the Isla Cristina Marine Society, an association of private enterprises related to various nautical and tourism activities, to promote the development of tourism and water sports (sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, scuba diving, kayaking trips in the Marsh, and  Sailing courses among others)

Isla Cristina also offers endless opportunities for leisure, adventure and relaxation, its hotels, apartments and campings, along with a sustainable environment and large vegetations, make this place a favourite destination for all nature lovers and  sports practitioners of trekking, bike rides, horse riding or golf players

On its cultural offer, we recommend to visit the Church de Nuestra Señora de los Dolores (city saint), the image of the Virgen de la Soledad, El paseo de las flores, the House Courtyard San Francisco or its great Theatre.
Finally, in this environment we find one of the most important natural sites in the province of Huelva: The Marshes of Isla Cristina, occupying 2.145 hectares, which have been declared Natural Park since 1989.
Sports, gastronomy, lodging, restaurants, beaches, sun, golf, culture and nature among others, are the attractions that we will find on this beautiful coastal enclave of Huelva.
